Station 7
At station 7 the range in values is highest near the surface, being approximately
0.16. For the rest of the water column the range at specific depths is around 0.06.
The overall range is 3.38-
Transmissivity-
The vertical profile observed at station 7 (50° 13.497N, 005° 00.971W) shows an interesting
salinity profile. As expected, salinity increases from 29.7 at 1.3m to 31.8 at 6.2m,
but then decreases to 31.1 at 9.6m. Nutrient distribution on the other hand follows
an expected trend. Phosphate levels fall from 6.21x10-
Nutrients-
Fluorescence-
Error range: 0.496-
Average fluorescence increases between 0.1m and 1.2m by 0.097 from 0.380 to 0.477. The average fluorescence stabilises after 1.2 meters and the average only increases by 0.024 between 1.2m and 9.5m. It is interesting to note the wide spread of data at 6.1 meters and the 2 erroneous data points seen around 1.3m and 3.6m where the fluorescence is 0.572 and 0.572 respectively.
ADCP Transect-
On the right hand side of the diagram there is an anomalously high patch on the reading for the backscatter. This has been postulated to be the result of the wake from a boat which was nearby.
Although some westward flow could be noted to occur along the surface layer whilst eastward flow occurred at depth, this may not be significant. The readings are mixed, with the ship track displaying current flow in both eastward and westward directions.
