Station 2
Station 2 exhibits a similar range in values throughout the water column, although the average value near the surface is approximately 4.24. Transmissivity generally increases with depth only peaking at 16 m depth. The maximum average value reached is approximately 4.30.
Transmissivity-
The vertical profile observed at station 2 (50° 10.140N, 005° 02.348W) shows nutrient
changes in the water column to be almost as expected. Salinity increases in a relatively
linear trend from 34.5 at 1.2m to 34.9 at 25.1m, with the only deviation observed
3m below the estimated 1% irradiance depth.
Phosphate and silicon follow an almost
identical trend in the surface 18.8m, with phosphate falling from 1.06x10-
Nitrate levels follow a continuous negative trend, falling from
8.52mmol/L at 1.3m to 7.33mmol/L at 18.9m. This trend becomes steeper just below
the estimated 1% irradiance depth to a low of 5.65mmol/L at 25.1m.

Fluorescence-
Error Range: 0.514-
In the first 6m fluorescence increases from an average of 0.37 at 1.2m to an average of 0.431 at 5.3m. The rest of the water column shows an average fluorescence of 0.464. There are some obvious erroneous data point shown on the right hand side of the graph, major ones being at 9 and 12 meters depth with fluorescence of 0.62 and 0.538.
ADCP Transect-
High backscatter of up to 87 dB occurred around the sill.
Conversely the flow appeared to be moving in a southerly direction on the right hand side of the diagram, as also evidenced from the ship track. The current velocity here reached values of up to 0.5 m/s (north velocity).
