Profiles of dissolved oxygen measured at different stations in ascending order of
distance from the coast. The Dissolved oxygen is measured using the CTD while descending.
The graph shows a general trend of increasing dissolved oxygen with depth. Station
40 has an oxycline at around 20 meters, which is more profound than at other stations.
The phytoplankton biomass between 15-20 meters was found to be higher than any depth
and station sampled. This corresponds to the deeper chlorophyll maxima which is initiated
by highly stratified water at the station 40.
