Pontoon Time Series

The concentration of chlorophyll within the water column increased throughout the sampling period, with a strong increase occurring from approximately 13:00 UTC. This pattern correlates with the fact that many groups of phytoplankton are known to carry out diel vertical migration within the water column, in response to the presence of light. The fact that the increase in chlorophyll concentration is first observed at depth further supports this suggestion.
