Falmouth 2016

Background information about Falmouth.

A survey carried out near Zone Point using a sidescan sonar TowFish along various transects to gather data to create a detailed benthic habitat map of a section of the SAC boundary.

Data collection of biological, chemical and physical parameters from the head of Falmouth estuary to Black Rock.

We are a group of second year undergraduate Marine Biology and Oceanography students studying at the University of Southampton. We completed two weeks of fieldwork around the waters of Falmouth, UK from the 21st June - 2nd July 2016. This website presents our initial findings. Special shoutout to Abbie who did a crazy amount of work and came on our boat trips despite a stay in hospital!

Aim: Conduct research between 21st June and 2nd July 2016 to gain a better understanding of the biological, chemical, physical and geological properties that combine to allow the functioning of the Fal Estuary and near offshore areas.
