EMILIANIA HUXLEYI - AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

Compiled by Jeremy R. Young
The Natural History Museum, London, SW7 5BD, UK

Introduction

This bibliography was compiled in early 1993 and was intended to be as comprehensive a listing as possible of publications with useful information on Emiliania huxleyi. It includes 250 references extracted from: my personal research bibliography; the International Nannoplankton Association Bibliography and Index of Taxa for 1990-1992 (compiled by W.G. Siesser); a listing of the Leiden research group's publications (from a research proposal of Peter Westbroek's); the references cited in the EHUX proposal to the EC; the GEOREF database (searched for keywords Emiliania and huxleyi). I included all references which included E.huxleyi in the title or which I knew contained relevant discussion, including unpublished theses and papers in press. I did not include: papers which merely include records of the occurrence of E.huxleyi; background references which do not directly discuss E.huxleyi; abstracts; internal reports.

The bibliography is almost certainly seriously incomplete, for instance many papers including culture studies of E.huxleyi may be missing. It has not been updated since 1993.

Keywords: These are based on the title and/or my memory of the paper, I have not generally rechecked the contents in detail. They are listed in brackets after the entries, and an index based on them is given after the references. The abbreviations are explained there.

INDEX

All the keywords used are indexed here. The index entries consist of the first 4 letters of the first author's name, and the abbreviated date of publication. This is a bit cryptic but should be more helpful than a numbering system, and shorter than listing the whole author's name. The application of the keywords was subjective and so this index is not very rigorous.
