Research Interests

High resolution palaeoclimatology and palaeoceanography, especially from laminated sediments. Interannual to decadal scale ocean/ climate variability. Diatom ecology and palaeoecology and the role of diatoms in biogeochemical cycling. Application of electron microscope techniques to interpret the fine-scale micro-fabrics of fine-grained sediments.
