Archived data of Rapid Watch 2008.

From 17 September to 24 November 2008, Bellamite was deployed as a trial in the RAPID-WATCH project. Following the success of this mission a new glider was purchased and named Dynamite. Dynamite was deployed on 21 May 2009 and traversed to the RAPID-WATCH mooring at EBH4/5 acting as a virtual mooring for two months. She generally stayed within four kilometres of the moring. On recovery of the mooring by the RRS Discovery in November 2009 the data from the mooring was directly compared to that received from the glider. Unfortunately a failure in the buoyancy engine on her way home meant that Dynamite needed to be rescued - courtesy of the Spanish Search and Rescue team from Las Palmas!
