Links ICES The Ellett line is one of a small number of time series sections and stations in the world's oceans. An organisation that links these unusual sites together is the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES). The ICES Working Group on Oceanic Hydrography meets each year to discuss scientific issues investigated and raised by the time series, and produces the ICES Report on Ocean Climate. CLIVAR The international research programme CLIVAR (Climate Variability and Prediction) supports and utilises oceanic time series data as part of scientific investigation into climate variability. OceanNET OceanNET is the portal for the UK GOOS and MED action groups, both operated by the UK's Inter-Agency Committee on Marine Science and Technology (IACMST). This site includes the UK Climate Atlas which describes the 1999/2000 status and trends of weather, climate, sea temperature, salinity, sea level, waves and plankton in UK territorial waters (soon to be updated to 2003).
