|

On 10.05.2006 ISAR 002 was replaced with ISAR 003 onboard the Pride of Bilbao.
This is deployment number 11. ISAR 002 was replaced on a routine cycle. |

CASOTTS II characterization
|
|
The ISAR team conducted a characterization of the CASOTS II black body
at the University of Miami, Florida, USA from 12.03.2006 to 17.03.2006.
Peter Minnett and his team
provided the necessary equipment and expertise for the experiment. |

New Data download service is online
|
|
Interested users can now register an download ISAR data from the web-page.
The registration is open to anyone and ISAR data is available through a
html-form where the longitude, latitude and date can be selected. The
ISAR data can be downloaded as ASCII files. |

ISAR 002 deployment
|
|
On 21.02.2006 ISAR 002 was deployed onboard the Pride of Bilbao which is now back
in service. This is deployment number 10. |

Pride of Bilbao refit
|
|
The Pride of Bilbao has today stopped the normal service and has moved to
Falmouth for her annual maintence schedule. The refit will end on
17.02.2005. We plan to install some hull mounted thermistors during the
refit. These thermistors will help us to improve the understanding of the
skin-bulk sea surface temperature difference. |

On 13.12.2005 ISAR 002 was replaced with ISAR 003 onboard the Pride of Bilbao.
This is deployment number 9. ISAR 002 was replaced because a problem with the
instrument optics was discovered. |

SISTeR intercalibration experiment
|
|
Tim Nightingale from the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory visited NOC to perform a
radiation source comparison (CASOTS II) with the SISTeR radiometer. |

AATSR Match-up recalculation complete
|
|
The reprocessing of AATSR validation data has completed today and the
results will be published on the web-page in due course. |

ISAR 002 deployment
|
|
The ISAR instruments 003 and 002 were today exchanged on the Pride of Bilbao.
This is deployment number 6 and ISAR 002 will measure the SST for the next three months. |

Pride of Bilbao refit
|
|
The Pride of Bilbao stopped the service on 27.12.2004 for her annual refit.
The refit was used to install a new cable from the engine room to the radio room on
the bridge deck. This link will allow to log the Seabird and the Thermosalinigraph
in the engine room with the ISAR data logger. Furthermore the refit was used to install
ISAR 003, the Eppley PIR, the Vaisala humidity sensor and the Automated Weather station
for the MetOffice. The Pride of Bilbao enter normal service on 01.02.2005. |

ISAR 002 deployment

The ISAR instruments 003 and 002 were today exchanged on the Pride of Bilbao.
This is deployment number 4 and ISAR 002 will measure the SST for the next two months. |

|
|
ISAR 003 was deployed on the Pride of Bilbao today. The instrument was upgraded prior
deployment to avoid the problems encountered with ISAR 002. This is deployment number 3. |

ISAR 002 shutter failure
|
|
ISAR 002 was taken off the Pride of Bilbao today. The instrument had encountered an
catastrophic failure of the shutter system. A Full investigation is underway and as soon as
we understand the problem ISAR 003 will be deployed. |

Calibration during AATSR maintenance
|
|
ISAR-002 was today re-deployed. It has been taken off the Pride
of Bilbao on the 20th April 2004 for calibration and maintenance during the
AATSR maintenance period from the 16th April 2004 to 23rd April 2004.
Furthermore the software on ISAR-002 was upgraded for improved data
logging. |
