In the JModels suite of models, a scenario is a simulation run in which certain pre-defined changes to parameters or state variables occur during the run. Typically these changes cause the model to simulate a particular event, or series of events. An example is the silica burp scenario of the silicon-phosphorus model, where a succession of parameter changes simulate Eocene vulcanism and climate change.
