FRENCH NATIONAL DATA

This data base contains most of the CTD data collected on french cruises. It includes: CTD casts, hydrological surveys (bottle data), current meter time series, temperature time series, and sea-level time series. MTP II/MATER - MEDITERRANEAN

From 1996 to 1999, 108 cruises (representing more than 1000 days of ship time) have been carried out, 130 long time series collected and 254 main scientific equipments have been used to collect in situ data within the frame work of the MATER (MAss Transfer and Ecosystem Response) program. These data have been processed in the scientific laboratories and in the archiving centers, according to international methods and standards.

MEDATLAS, MEDAR/MEDATLAS II

The overall objective of the MEDAR/MEDATLAS II project is to make available a comprehensive data product of multi-disciplinary in-situ data and information in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. The specific project objectives are: 1. to compile and safeguard historical data, with special attention to the East and South regions and the coastal areas, most of these data being regularly collected by the Mediterranean bordering countries in the frame of national regional or international programmes, and occasionally by a few other countries; 2. to make available comparable and compatible data sets of : temperature, salinity, oxygen, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, total nitrogen, phosphate, total phosphorus, silicate, H2S, pH, alkalinity, chlorophyll-a profiles by using a common protocol for formatting and quality checking.
A CD-ROM can be bought to get this data.

SAVED: Système Acquisition Validation Exploitation de Données du Téthys

ADCP, méteorological, surface temperature, salinity and fluorimetry data continuously collected by the french R/V Thetys II in the northwestern Mediterranean are analysed and stored this dedicated data base. A lot of data have been accumulated for the Gulf of Lions area. Available data can be consulted through an on-line catalogue and order directly by mail.

WAVE DATA BASE

Waves are monitored in two sites of the Gulf of Lions, the first off the Camargue (Rhone river delta) and the second off Sète by the French ministry of equipment. The site off Camargue is equipped with a directional datawell wave buoy and that off Sète with a non-directional datawell wave buoy. Statistical information can be downloaded for each site, and "real-time" data can be obtained only for the buoy off Camargue.

TIDE DATA BASE

Predictions of tidal amplitude for two sites of the Gulf of Lions, the first at Marseille and the second at Banyuls can be obtained on line through the french navy web site.
