Professional and geographical distribution of registered users

During the first fifteen years after the start of the project in 1987, the software and teaching modules were distributed to over 500 research institutions, universities and colleges and more than 2000 individual users in over 70 countries. Many of these users shared the software and lessons with colleagues and students, and some produced their own Bilko-based teaching materials to fit their specific requirements.

Since October 2004, when the new website went live, a further 955 users from 88 different countries have registered on-line to download software and lessons. The majority of these are lecturers and students in universities and higher education colleges around the world (right). Over half come from Europe, but the proportion of registration from other parts of the world is increasing (below).

Statistics for one year to 31-Dec-05 (left) shows that 52% of users live in Europe. However, quarterly registration totals (right) show a slight increase in the number of users from other parts of the world.
