OCCAM
welcome to the FRAM
ftp directory. The FRAM project officially ended in 1992 but has
left a legacy of interesting data and useful software. This directory
contain programs and files produced by the FRAM project
which have been made available to the academic community. Unfortunately this
software is no longer supported but software offering similar and extra
functionality may be found in the OCCAM ftp space.
The following naming conventions have been used for the file extensions:
- none
- ascii text
- bin
- unformatted binary
- tar
- UNIX archive file created using "tar cvf"
- Z
- compressed file using the UNIX "compress" utility
1. Contents of the FRAM ftp directory
- fram_extract.tar.Z
- Fortran program and subroutines to extract data from FRAM datasets.
See: T. Hateley & B de Cuevas, 1992 "The main runs and datasets
of the Fine Resolution Antarctic Model Project (FRAM) Part III:
The data extraction routines". IOSDL internal Report No. 319
- fram_xgraphics.tar.Z
- Xview graphics programs for displaying and checking FRAM data.
Programs include:
- mplot: A general purpose Mercator-type view with
zoom, pan and vector plotting options.
- gplot: A presentation quality
orthographic projection onto a spherical Earth.
- fp2191.cards.Z
- An example of the data format produced by the FRAM extraction
routines and used by the FRAM graphics programs (ASCII encoded data).
this file contains the FRAM stream-function field at the end of the
6-year spin-up period.
