The Fellowships are intended for researchers at an early stage of their career; they offer three years of funded full-time PhD study or 3 months of funded training with generous living, travel and mobility allowances.

The living allowance will be paid as a taxable salary to the Fellows. The value is approximately £24 000 (£17-£18,000 after tax, national insurance etc) per year for the duration of the Fellowship (pro rata for 3 month Fellows). A generous mobility allowance (approximately £5000 sterling per year)is made to all Fellows and a one off payment is made to 3 Year Fellows for career exploration. Details will be dependent on individual circumstances and will be discussed with successful applicants.

Fellows will be appointed as employees of the University where they are registered for their PhD award and like other staff they will be provided with working space, use of a computer and full access to the library and other University resources.
